It all began in May 1991. Today, 425 DX News marks its 1700th issue after
over thirty-two years of providing uninterrupted service to the DX
community. To all our readers across the globe: thank you!
A6 - A60ND is the special callsign for the Emirates Amateur Radio Soci-
ety to celebrate the UAE National Day (2 December). QSL via EA7FTR.
Also expected to take part in the celebrations are the Bahrain Ama-
teur Radio Society as A91UAE (26 November-2 December), the Saudi
Amateur Radio Society as HZ1UAE (26 November-2 December), the
Kuwait Amateur Radio Society as 9K9UAE (30 November-6 December),
and possibly the Royal Omani Amateur Radio Society as A43UAE.
A6 - Patrick, A65D says that "planning is underway for an IOTA activa-
tion of the UAE coastal islands [AS-021 and/or AS-124, Ed.] by a
team of operators from the Emirates Amateur Radio Society in Decem-
ber 2023 or January 2024". Operations are expected on most HF bands
and on the QO-100 satellite, likely over two or three days. Details
are expected in due course.
CY9 - The target date for the CY9C DXpedition to St. Paul Island (NA-094)
[425DXN 1668] is now late August into early September 2024. The
main island is controlled by the Canadian Wildlife Service and is
off-limits; the team will once again have a helicopter available to
access the smaller Northeast Island as there is no dock or landing
area for a boat. This will be an all-mode all-band "tent and
generator" DXpedition with nine operators (K4ZLE, K9CT, N2IEN,
N2TU, W0GJ, W0PR, W4DKS, WA4DAN and WW2DX). Updates will be posted

EA - Celebrating Christmas and the New Year, members of Radio Club
Lliria (EA5RCL) will be active as EH5XMAS from 7 December to 7 Jan-
uary. QSL via the bureau to EA5RCL, LoTW and eQSL.
HZ - HZ30EXPO is the special callsign for the Saudi Amateur Radio Soci-
ety (HZ1SAR) to celebrate the election of Saudi Arabia as host
country of World Expo 2030, which will take place in Riyadh. Look
for activity from 30 November to 9 December.
JD1_oga- Members of the Kansai Okinawa Ham Club will be active as JD1YCE
from Ogasawara on 9-19 December. They will operate CW, SSB and dig-
ital modes on the HF bands and 6 metres. QSL via LoTW, Club Log's
OQRS, or direct to JA3AVO.
PA - Celebrating Christmas and the New Year, special callsign PH23XMAS
will be active on 6-28 December, followed by PH24HNY from 28 Decem-
ber to 31 January. QSL cards will not be provided.
PZ - Nobu, JA0JHQ will be active as PZ5NH from Paramaribo, Suriname on
7-11 December. He will operate CW, SSB and FT8 on various bands,
with main activity during the ARRL 10-Meter Contest (9-10 Decem-

T32 - The Rebel DX Group will be active as T32TT from Kiritimati/Christ-
mas Island (OC-024), East Kiribati starting on 5 December "for 3 or
more weeks". Plans are to have two stations for CW, one for SSB and
twelve stations for digital modes: expect "up to 10 streaming sig-
nals on each band" for both FT4 and FT8 "on normal mode and F/H
mode", using "dedicated FT8/FT4 frequencies and standard frequen-

V4 - Once again John, W5JON will be active as V47JA from St. Kitts (NA-
104) on 9-18 December. He will operate SSB and FT8 on the HF bands

VU4 - Krish, W4VKU will be active as VU4N from the Andaman Islands (AS-
001) on 16-26 December. He plans to be QRV on the HF bands and 6m
SSB and FT8 using MSHV on non-standard frequencies. QSL via LoTW,

VU7 - Krish, W4VKU will be active as VU7A from the Lakshadweep Islands on
4-10 December. He plans to be QRV on the HF bands and 6 metres SSB
and FT8 (see https://www.qrz.com/db/VU7A for his planned transmit

XT - Harald, DF2WO will be active again as XT2AW from Burkina Faso on 6-
19 December. He operates all modes on the HF bands, 6 metres and
via QO-100. QSL via M0OXO's OQRS and LoTW.
YB - Burkhard, DL3KZA has changed his plans [425DXN 1699] and will be
active as YB9/DL3KZA from Lombok Island (OC-150) from 30 November
to 18 December. QSL via home call, direct or bureau. [TNX The Daily

ZD7 - Elvira, IV3FSG will be active as ZD7Z from St. Helena (AF-022) from
16 January to 4 February. She will operate SSB, CW, RTTY, FT8 and
FT4 (using MSHV) on 160-6 metres. Plans are to enable Club Log's
Live Stream feature. QSL via Club Log's OQRS, paper cards direct to
IK2DUW.
YOTA MONTH ---> The Youngsters On The Air group will be active again during
the entire month of December. The idea for this event is to show the amateur
radio hobby to youth and to encourage youngsters to be active on the ham

EARLY ANNOUNCEMENT: PACIFIC TOUR ---> Hrane, YT1AD and a large team will be
active from Fiji (3D2AD), Samoa (5W8A) and Tokelau between 7 February and 1
March 2024. Main activity will be as ZK3M (or maybe ZK3A, as in 2019) from
Tokelau (OC-048) on 15-25 February. Current team members are YT1AD, K1LZ,
K3JO (YT3WW), LU9ESD, R7KW, RC9O and his wife UA9OYL, VK3FY, YT3M, YU3AA.
There are still openings for three or four more operators, contact Hrane if
interested in joining the team. More information is expected in due course.

suffered), Cezar went QRT on 30 November and was finally able to leave the
island on 1 December, just in time to reach Weno and then catch his return
flight on 3 December.
