INTERNATIONAL MARCONI DAY ---> Organized by the Cornish Radio Amateur Club,
the International Marconi Day (IMD) is a 24-hour amateur radio event held
annually to celebrate the birth of Guglielmo Marconi (25 April 1874). It is
not a contest, but an opportunity for amateurs around the world to make
contacts with historic Marconi sites using HF communications techniques.
This year's event will be held on 23 April, from 00.00 UTC to 23.59 UTC.
Details, including information on the Award Certificates and the listing of
participating stations, can be found at http://gx4crc.com/.

NCDXF DXCELLENCE AWARD ---> Created in April 2021, the Northern California
DX Foundation's "DXcellence Award" is awarded to the "outstanding DXpedition
of the last twelve month, which received funding from NCDXF. The award is
intended to recognize excellence in a DXpedition, exemplified by practices,
ethics, management, transparency, impact upon the DXing community, and last-
ly exhibited fun! The winner of the award is determined by the NCDXF Board
of Directors. The board considers several factors, including performance,
complexity of the DXpedition, impact on Club Log most wanted ranking . Espe-
cially important are activities associated with humanitarian and education".
The first DXcellence Award has been conferred on the S9OK DXpedition to Sao
Tome (October 2021): "their team did a terrific job, and after contact with
Zorro, JH1AJT, planned a visit to the local schools. Useful gifts were given
to the children for the classrooms and the children's response was joy and
happiness".

Foundation were voted in on 11 April. The new roster of officers is Kevin

The primary purpose of NCDXF (https://www.ncdxf.org/) is to help fund well-
organized DXpeditions to desirable DXCC Entities, and to support advances in
DXpeditioning skills, technology and infrastructure. Those funds come from
the contributions of supporters in the DX community, who "help make DX hap-
pen". In addition, NCDXF provides scholarships to Contest University for
those 25 years of age and under; partners with IARU to operate the NCDXF
Beacon System worldwide; supports the World Radio Team Championship.
