9A - IK6VXO and others will be active as 9A8DV from Drvenik Veli Island
(EU-016) from 27 July to 2 August, including an entry in the IOTA

9A - Alex, 9A6SAI will be operate SSB from three different islands, all
counting for IOTA group EU-110, during the IOTA Contest: Sveti Ivan
na Pucini (29 July starting around 17 UTC), Sveti Ivan (during the
night), and Sturag (30 July). QSL via LoTW. [TNX NG3K]
CT7 - Members of the Associacao de Radioamadores da Beira Alta (CT1ARB)
will operate special callsign CQ7JMJ on 1-6 August in celebration
of World Youth Day (Jornada Mundial da Juventude) to be held in
Lisbon. Also active will be CS23WYD (QSL via CT2FFC and LoTW).
DL - Mike, DG5LAC will be active as DG5LAC/p from Foehr Island (EU-042)
on 4-11 August. He will operate FT8, FT4 and some SSB. QSL via Club
Log's OQRS, LoTW, eQSL.
F - George, F5MAG will be active as TM0MM from the Frioul Islands (EU-
095) on 5-19 August. He will operate SSB, CW and FT8 on 40-6m. QSL
via the bureau to F5MAG. Located off the Mediterranean coast of
France, the Frioul archipelago includes four islands (Pomegues,
Ratonneau, If, Tiboulen). [TNX The Daily DX]
GD - Tom, G2NV and Ady, G6AD will be active as GD6AD from the Isle of
Man (EU-116) on 27-31 July, including an entry in the IOTA Contest.

GU - MU/ON6EF/p and MU/ON1BN/p expected to be active from Herm Island
(EU-114) on 28 July. They will then move to the main island of
Guernsey, where they will participate in the IOTA Contest as
GU6EFW. QSL via ON6EF (direct and bureau) and eQSL.
I - Celebrating the centenary of the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio
and Molise, special callsign II6PN will be in use between 1 August
and 31 October, with main activity expected to take place on 1-17
September. QSL via Club Log's OQRS, LoTW, eQSL, or via IK6IHU. A
certificate will be available, see https://www.qrz.com/db/II6PN for
the details.
JA - Look for Kenji, JA4GXS to be active as JA4GXS/4 from Kasado Island
(AS-117) on 5 August (7-22 UTC). He will operate CW, SSB and FT8 on
40, 30, 20 and 6 metres. QSL via home call, direct or bureau.
PA - PG100N is a special callsign celebrating the centenary of the
lighthouse located at Noordwijk aan Zee. Look for activity between
1 August and 11 September, especially during the International
Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend (19-20 August) and the Open Monument
Day (9-10 September). QSL via the bureau to PA7DA.
PA - Special event station PA14JAMBO will be activated on 4-17 August
from Spaarnwoude for the 14th Haarlem Jamborette, a large interna-
tional scout camp that takes place in the Netherlands every four
years. Look for activity on SSB, CW, and digital modes. QSL via
PA9LUC and eQSL.
PY - Jose PY6HD, Beto PY6RT and Rob PY6TV will be active as PR6T from
Tinhare Island (SA-080) on 28-30 July, including an entry in the
IOTA Contest. They will operate SSB, CW and FT8 (MSHV) on 40, 20,
15 and 10 metres. QSL via Club Log's OQRS and LoTW.
PY - Renato, PY8WW will be active as PX8Z from Cotijuba Island (SA-060)
from 28 July to 1 August, including an entry in the IOTA Contest.
QSL via Club Log's OQRS (preferred), or direct to PY8WW.
SM - A 3-men team from Taby Sandaramatorer (SK0MT) - namely Palle
SA0BYP, Thomas SM0CXU and Mel SM0MPV - will be active as SK3T from
Agon Island (EU-176) on 27-31 July, including an entry in the IOTA
Contest.
UA9 - Anton, RG0C will be active as RG0C/p from the Shantar Islands (AS-
044) and their environs between 27 July and 10 August. He will
operate low power CW on 20m. QSL via home call. [TNX DX World]
W - N4CW and W4TMO will participate in the IOTA Contest as K1IMI from
either Bailey Island (NA-137) or Little Deer Isle (NA-055). QSL

YB - 7D5X will be active from Tanjung Medang, Rupat Island (OC-245) on
28-30 July, including activity during the IOTA Contest. The opera-
tion is aimed at "developing new young radio amateurs", with activ-
ity on 40, 20, 15 and 10 metres. QSL via LoTW and Club Log. [TNX

IOTA CONTEST ---> The IOTA Contest will be held on 29-30 July (12.00-12.00
UTC) on 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 metres CW and SSB. Complete details can be

Operations are taking place from the Sovereign Military Order of Malta's

4W8X: LOCATION SETUP & LOW BAND ANTENNAS ---> Lagunaria DX Group's November
2023 DXpedition to Timor Leste [425DXN 1677] "will have two operating sites
which are 500m apart. The main location, which we have also used for our
4W1A scouting trip in April, will serve all eleven bands from 160m thru 6m.
The second location will serve seven bands from 40m thru 10m. The physical
separation will enable us to provide two signals on the same band at the
same time - one CW and one SSB. Please note that CW and SSB are our pre-
ferred modes, followed by RTTY. We'll give FT8 a chance, but we definitely
prefer the man-made operating modes".
As for the low bands, 4W8X will have two 30m 4-Squares, two 40m 4-Squares,
one 80m 4-Square and one Titanex V160 vertical with extensive radials for
160m. For receiving, they will have two Beverages (about 250m long) plus
filtering/switching network to listen in four directions, independently on
160m and 80m: Europe (short path); North America (short path); Africa, same
as North America (long path); South America, same as Europe (long path).
